When it comes to Christmas gimmicks, there is something magical about turning the most mundane of items into a seasonal treat.
As part of their holiday lineup, Old Chang Kee is offering Blue Christmas Tree Puffs.
Smoked Chicken Xmas’O blue puffs will be available from 1 Dec 2022 for S$2.20 each.
All major food delivery platforms, such as GrabFood, Food Panda and Deliveroo, will offer them as well.
According to a press release, Old Chang Kee will be bringing back blue Xmas’O puffs.
Butterfly peas give the pastry its distinctive blue color. Anyone who doesn’t know that it’s food will probably do a double take as the puff bears an uncanny resemblance to blue felt material that’s been stitched into a Christmas tree-shaped pouch.
There is a mixture of vegetables and chunks of smoked chicken meat hidden inside the buttery pastry. There is a smoky, sweet, and savoury taste to the filling thanks to the black pepper BBQ sauce. Old Chang Kee describes the puffs as a “crowd-pleaser amongst those who love BBQ food.”
Smoked Chicken Xmas’O blue puffs will be available between 1 and 25 December for S$2.20 each and are sold in limited quantities You can find them at all Old Chang Kee outlets islandwide, but they are limited-edition, so don’t wait to get them.
