How Does the CDC Vouchers Scheme Work?
First launched in June 2020, the CDC Vouchers Scheme distributes vouchers to households to be redeemed at participating local merchants and hawkers in the heartlands. The purpose of this initiative was to assist residents with their daily expenses as well as boost local businesses that have been adversely affected by COVID-19.
On 18 October, the CDC announced that it would receive vouchers from the CDC in the coming months, which will be distributed as digital vouchers (e-vouchers). With flexibility in mind, half of the vouchers released this round is meant to be redeemed at participating hawkers and heartland merchants. The other half can be redeemed at participating supermarkets.
