Even with its absurd appearance, Tampines Viral Scary Red HDB is actually quite nice-looking on the inside, especially after repainting, and is a great location for your concept OOTDs/portraits. The backdrop is free and not crowded at all. So why not?
Many new Build-To-Order (BTO) homeowners are collecting their keys and rolling pineapples in their new homes at Tampines GreenVines.
There are also curious visitors such as ourselves. From talking to some residents, we have learnt that a large part of each storey’s corridor wall has been painted white, as well as the Lobby’s ceiling and wall. The first storey’s red ceiling panel at the Lobby also have been removed.
A day after a spotlight was shone on Block 640B, workers were seen painting the building.
In Tampines GreenVines, 11 blocks consist of red lift lobbies, purplish blue lift lobbies, and yellow lift lobbies. There is still no access to the purplish blue block, which appears to be on its way.
According to Baey Yam Keng’s Facebook post on 2nd April, the changes are in progress. In addition, he does not support the hacking of tiles as it would be a waste of public resources.
After all the hard work for making it less scary and dim, it does actually look quite aesthetically unique for photos.
